From the mouth of Captain America, the Avengers should definitely be careful when taking on Ultron.
It’s no secret that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) made a huge contribution to the villains side for Marvel. For the last couple of months the debate surrounding Marvel’s lack of interesting bad guys has really stirred things up and hopefully Marvel listened. A superhero is only as good as the villain he or she is facing, which is why so many people don’t really take Superman very seriously. An almost invincible alien against a normal person doesn’t make sense does it? The only conclusion that can be made is that Superman has to be really stupid if Lex Luthor is ever going to get a chance to win.
For Marvel the problem is a little different. It’s not so much the imbalance between the hero and villain as it is the love fans have towards the bad guy. Another good example is Batman and Joker. A lot of people love Batman, but there is a chance that more people love Joker. However, things are about to change in May when James Spader tries to add to Loki’s contribution.
Why Ultron is Special
For starters, Ultron isn’t just fueling his crusade with a desire for power and domination. In fact, he believes that the only way to save the world is by getting rid of the problem, which is humanity by the way. Now in the hands of the right actor the movie will be much more than just good guys against the bad guys, because Ultron has a much deeper motivation. The fact that he is outnumbered will only help his cause. Get ready for monologues that will spark some sympathy for this powerful nemesis.
James Spader as Ultron
It has to be said that James Spader isn’t really known for his movie career. He only became a household name since Boston Legal arrived on television, which also led to the popular Blacklist series. Did Whedon make the right choice? The truth is Whedon couldn’t have made a better choice. Spader has a natural talent for delivering long and beautiful speeches. He can make the most mundane subject sound interesting and thanks to some juicy details given by Chris Evans, Ultron is going to be a speech-maker. In other words, Spader and Ultron are going to compliment each other nicely.
Making things more Interesting
We aren’t really sure how bad Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver is going to be in the Age of Ultron movie, but we do know they share a couple of scenes with Ultron according to the latest trailer. If they are going to join forces with Ultron then we can really expect the Avengers to have their hands full. Is it wrong to hope that it will turn out this way?
Where does Ultron come from?
Originally Ultron was created by Hank Pym, but he isn’t going to be in the Age of Ultron movie, which means the creator will most likely be Tony Stark. More specifically, his Iron Man technology and Jarvis (his artificial intelligence) that decides to get a little rebellious. However, this is mere speculation because it makes sense. It also ties in with the start of the Civil War.
March simply can’t go by fast enough!!
